About team UTHealth Houston
The UTHealth Institute for Implementation Science was established to accelerate and improve the use of evidence to improve population health in the real world and to bridge the research-to-practice gap. The ultimate impact of health innovations depends not only on their effectiveness but also on their reach in the population and the extent to which they are adopted, implemented, and maintained over time. Led by founding co-directors, Maria E. Fernandez, PhD and Bijal Balasubramanian, MBBS, PhD, the institute aims to conduct new innovative research, train the next generation of implementation scientists, and provide consultations to increase the spread and reach of implementation science research.
